Course Description:
This course is designed to provide frontline workers with essential knowledge and practical skills to identify, understand, and address stress, depression, and anxiety, both in themselves and in the individuals they serve. As a frontline worker, you often face high-pressure situations and work with clients who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Developing the ability to recognize and manage these issues is crucial for maintaining personal well-being and providing effective support to those in need.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Understand the difference between stress and anxiety
- Identify current prevalence of anxiety and depression
- Define symptoms of anxiety and depression
- Identify work/life interfering behaviors and symptoms related to anxiety and depression
- Understand the evidence-based interventions for treatment of anxiety and depression
- Understand the clinical consequences of untreated and insufficiently treated anxiety and depression
- Identify self-care tips to help with stress, anxiety and depression
