Course Description:

This course is designed to provide frontline workers with the essential knowledge and skills required to identify, understand, and support individuals at risk for suicide. As a frontline worker, you may encounter individuals in crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts. Your intervention can make a significant difference in their lives.

The course emphasizes evidence-based approaches for suicide prevention, assessment, and intervention, as well as crisis management and postvention strategies. By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Understand the scope of suicide as a public health problem
  • Explain suicide risks and protective factors
  • Describe evidence-based interventions for preventing suicide
